Background
For over 30 years Episcopal Camp and Conference Centers (ECCC) have been supporting its over 100 member centers strong base where thousands of weddings, conferences and faith based summer camps are run every year. We were tasked with capturing their 25th annual conference held just outside of Hendersonville, NC at Lake Kanuga. The conference is dedicated to enriching the lives of its members with social bonding, resources and training to best serve their community and camp/conference center. We really enjoyed working with this group and even shot a small music video for a cover of Brandi Carlisle’s Crowded Table as one of the attendees happened to know her.
In addition to video deliverables we wanted to give each attendee updated professional headshots to elevate their presence on camps websites and professional networking mediums within the ECCC.
how we tackled the ask
With the conference being over the course of five days with a daily recap needed for every day in addition to the final video that would be delivered later we had to work efficiently in teams of two in order to capture everything needed for the day and regroup to edit recaps for social media the same day.
While the main objective was video capture of the conference we had to balance schedules and crew to make sure our headshot stations had the best chance of being taken advantage of by the attendees. Since these are “camp folks” we opted to do mostly outdoor photography with practical and staged lighting for the cleanest outcome while staying on brand.
