HOW WE TACKLED THE ASK
With a tight deadline of less than a month we organized, shot and fully produced multiple Doritos ads with different punchlines that not only showcased the products but gave a full story with characters and ambiance.
For Dorito-Cute we approached the piece with almost zero dialogue and chose to create an intimately designed story of two potential lovers meeting by chance in the park on their way home from the store when fate brings them together for one big payoff. This commercial was featured on the official Doritos website but didn’t move on to the later rounds of selection for prize money or otherwise.
With our second commercial, 3 Dorito Monte, we had bigger plans of a full scene filled with actors depicting a game of chance where a would-be con man gets duped by an unsuspecting “innocent little girl”. We fought for daylight and actors but still accomplished something that tells a story worth watching to see how it unfolds
